NEW LOCAL LIVE-ACTION SHORTS ‘KLIK KLUB PREMIERES THIS FRIDAY

by

The Walt Disney Company Africa today announced the premiere of Klik Klub, a brand-new, live-action series of local shorts, on Disney Channel (DStv channel 303) from Friday, 8 December at 16:50 (CAT).

Airing weekly, viewers are in for a sprinkle of friendship, a dash of culinary creativity, and a whole lot of celebrity fun with Klik Klub. The Klik Klub is a cool after-school club where a group of kids of different ages hang out and send invitation letters to their favourite influencers.

They wait in anticipation to see which surprise celebrity guest will knock on their door, carrying a mystery box filled with ingredients representing their childhood food memory. Thereafter, the group splits into two teams to cook up a storm with the mystery box contents and compete in a taste challenge.

The series is led by a group of energetic and charismatic South African kids – Bokamoso Khalushi (15); Diante Lee-Kye Bastew (10); Jordanna Valkin (11); Lubabalo Tala (14); Kimberley Orielle Strange (11) and Cebelihle Khanyisa Mbambo (14). They each bring a lively and exciting energy to the group dynamic, taking turns interviewing the special guests – learning more about their journey – or preparing, cooking and plating the recipes.

The first episode on Friday, 8 December, kicks off with singer Sho Madjozi, followed by weekly episodes every Friday. Other influential guests include singer Langa Mavuso, actor Motlatsi Mafatshe; presenter Luthando “LootLove” Shosha; dancer/TikTok star Chad Jones; actor Mpho Sebeng; fashion designer/content creator Sonia Tona; actress Shannon Esra; DJ/producer DJ Doowap and DJs/content creators Figo and Babu.

Klik Klub is another series of local shorts that have aired on Disney Channel, with the likes of My Magic Is Me – the celebration of children’s uniqueness – and the zany comedy adventures through history in Wandi & Kabz. In addition, Disney continues to celebrate animated stories that came straight from the continent, including Kiya and the Kimoja Heroes on Disney Junior (DStv channel 309) and the now-streaming Disney+ Original series Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire

Klik Klub was produced by That Food Guy Group for The Walt Disney Company Africa and premieres on Disney Channel (DStv channel 303) from Friday, 8 December at 16:50 (CAT).
