During the Festive Season at Hyde Park Corner, shoppers who made use of the gift-wrapping stations generously donated to a worthy cause.
They were so generous, that their donations resulted in a cheque for R10 000.00 being handed over to Rays of Hope on Friday, 22 January 2021.
Rays of Hope began operating in Alexandra Township 29 years ago and through their efforts there are now eight community-based programmes impacting over 2 600 people. Their vision is to create lasting change in Alex by building mutually transformative relationships to realise individual potential and create opportunities for development to independence.
This registered NGO partners with more than 30 Alex-based organisations to increase their reach and are supported by many organisations to ensure the sustainability of their programmes. 100% of their beneficiaries are disadvantaged South Africans.
Three focus areas encompass the work Rays of Hope does with passion and dedication:
- ORPHANS & VULNERABLE CHILDREN: We walk alongside to bring hope, health and dignity through nurturing and equipping.
- EDUCATION: We bridge educational gaps through thoughtful and purposeful intervention.
- WORK READINESS: We unlock economic potential via learnership, technical skills, mentoring and life skills.
