TLC is excited to announce the brand-new star-studded series, Written in The Stars, premiering on TLC South Africa (DStv channel 135) on Thursday, 7 November, at 22:00.
Viewers are invited to join the hopeful singles as they trust in the stars to find them the one. Putting the love lives of the 12 unsuspecting contestants in the hands of three of the world’s top astrologers to see if true love really is written in the stars!
In this audacious dating experiment – presented by award-winning radio broadcaster, podcaster and television presenter Clara Amfo – 12 single strangers, all in search of love and each representing one of the 12 signs of the zodiac, arrive at a mysterious manor house in Greece to find they have been matched with someone in the group using their birth charts alone.
Three globally renowned astrologers – Michele Knight, Colin Bedell and Francesca Oddie – are set to matchmake the group of 12 cynical singles, all desperate to find love, using just their birth charts. They believe they have found each contestant their perfect astrological match and will work tirelessly to help them get to know each other and, ultimately, fall in love. With many cynics among the contestants, the stakes couldn’t be higher, not just for those looking for love but also for astrology itself.
In Greece, the birthplace of Astrology and home to Venus, the Goddess of Love, the new couples will go on bespoke romantic dates designed by the astrologers. Living together during one lunar cycle (30 days), it remains to be seen how many of them will make the ultimate commitment and get married at a starlit beach ceremony. The question remains: Can an Aquarius get fierce for a Pisces, and is what they say about Scorpios true?
Meet Our 12 Singles:
Toby, 35, is an Olympic bobsledder and Libra who has been single for four years due to his athletic career. He uses dating apps frequently and likes people who take care of themselves physically and have a good heart. Taylor, 24, an Aries from Essex, is looking for ‘Mr Right’ after three failed relationships. She is fast-paced in relationships and prefers a mix of a ‘dad bod’ and a six-pack. Mattia, 32, is a Scorpio from Italy with a jealous streak, now based in the UK and enjoys clubbing. Kayleigh, 32, a plus-size model and businesswoman, wants to find love after being single for two years and is attracted to earth signs.
Kelly, 35, an actress and former model, has been single for three years and is open to astrology despite past scepticism. David, 32, known as the ‘Shirtless Chef’ on TikTok, is a Cancer sign seeking a woman who can make him laugh. Ashley, 23, a Sagittarius and fashion model, is sceptical about astrology but remains open-minded in his search for love. Liat, 29, a Taurus, seeks someone mature and serious and believes she will connect well with Aries, Geminis, Virgos, and Capricorns.
Callum, 28, an outgoing Leo from Essex, values personality over looks in a partner. Jack, 27, a Virgo and construction worker, is an old-school romantic who is open to astrology. Jocelyn, 31, a Capricorn from Wales, is spontaneous and impatient, and despite her cynicism towards astrology, hopes to find her dream man. James, 31, a yoga instructor and believer in astrology, is ready to meet ‘the one’.
