African social contest platform, Epic Contests has officially announced the launch of its mobile app. The app gives consumers access to some of the world’s most amazing experiences at a fraction of the cost through an innovative contest mechanic. Beyond these amazing experiences consumers have the opportunity to create social good through various charitable initiatives.
Founded by Ted Koka, an entrepreneur, broadcast media specialist and former Paramount executive; the mission is to connect the world through experiences and give consumers access to high value experiences at a fraction of the cost. In addition, creators and brands have an unprecedented opportunity to tap into the world of experiences.
“We launched Epic-Contests a few months prior to Covid-19, and through the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, we navigated uncharted territory and created amazing travel experiences despite the challenges that were faced by many businesses in the travel & tourism sector. Ultimately, we deliver a transparent contest app to our customers that gives them access to amazing experiences.” said founder of Epic-Contests Ted Koka.
The Epic-Contests flagship covered a variety of experiences across all leisure and lifestyle categories and destinations in Africa with some of your favourite personalities in Mzansi, such as the Wanderlust Zanzibar hosted by Candice Modiselle, Girls Trip Cape Town with Vanessa Padi, City Moms with Thobeka Majozi, Foodies and Villas Camps Bay, Road Tripping with Cherrified, Baecation with Libho and Timna, Girls Trip Maldives, 5 Days in the Kruger National Park, The Macc Gee Experience, 7 Nights in Seychelles, Stellenbosch is for wine lovers, Culinary Escapes with Luyanda Mafanya, Your Best Life Knysna, Fashion City with Eddy & Audrey, Discover Africa – Accra, Your Best Life George, Discover Africa- Zanzibar, Vacation for four Plettenberg Bay, Hidden Gems Paternoster, Whale watching in Hermanus, and Beats & Wine with Ms XO.
Since inception, Epic-Contests is known for creating and delivering hundreds of experiences. This new app, now available on Apple Store and Google Play Store intends to turn up the dial and promises to enhance the user experience.
Better known as “the Netflix of experiences”, this app categorizes experiences across multiple categories including travel and adventure, sports and fitness, music and lifestyle as well as kids and family.
The app promises to deliver the world’s most transparent contest mechanic through powerful content rich and engagement features. These features include a contest feed that makes all contest participants visible, a real time countdown clock on every contest and a real time leaderboard showcasing live participant credits.
Users sign up to the platform and enter any contest for free by submitting a piece of content (picture or video) of themselves. They then have to earn the highest number of credits in order to win. Users earn credits in three ways, first they can take a quiz, second is the ability to use a promo code and third is the purchase of credits on the platform.
The platform provides consumers with two distinct products called contests and reservations. Contests are time based while reservations offer a “buy now” option for experiences.
To brands, the app enables powerful consumer campaigns that connect product sales as a gateway to the experience. The app also delivers engaging features such as interactive quizzes that drive brand awareness and salience. Creators use the app to connect with their communities and monetize their creative ability to curate travel experiences that their community would love to be a part of.
For as little as R499.00 any creator or brand can create an experience and tap into the power of Epic-Contests. You could also see the Epic-Contests deck and card here
