F5FM announced the third annual Live Loud Mid-Year Break at Sun City last month. The station heads to the North West provinces’ iconic Sun International resort for a party weekend that will surely chase away the winter blues. Party-goers can expect the hottest tunes on the decks to keep them warm with the stations’ phenomenal DJs and live performances from Friday, 12 July to Sunday, 14 July.
This year award-winning artists, rapper Nasty C, Lady Zamar and Tresor headline the main event on Saturday at the newly renovated Sun Arena alongside 5FM DJs Roger Goode and Ryan the DJ.
As per previous events, the weekend is kickstarted with a Friday night party at The Shebeen with the Off Boyz featuring Venom, 2LeeStark and Tshego and 5FM Weekender5 on the decks including Ms Cosmo, Ryan the DJ, DJ Loyd and sister radio station Motsweding FM’s Amon Mokoena.
On Thursday, 11 July, the 5FM team will be hosting a DJ seminar and a CSi initiative, a sport clinic for both boys and girls, in collaboration with Varsity Sport as part of the station’s CSi projects Youngblood5. Entrance to the both these initiatives are free.
Live Loud at the Sun Arena is the main event of the weekend later that night with the headliners and followed by Live Loud 2.0 at Encore from 11pm with 5FM DJs Rob Forbes and Fix, Das Kapital, Ryan the DJ, DJ Loyd and Kid Fonque.
We end of the weekend with the introduction of Tshwanefontein Live Loud Edition courtesy of the team at Homecoming Events. Enjoy sundowners and chilled tunes with 5FM DJs Thando Thabethe, Kid Fonque, DJ Lamiez Holworthy, PH and Tsitso poolside at The Cascades Hotel.
5FM will also broadcast several shows live from Sun City with Nick Hamman getting the party started on Friday from the Entertainment Centre from 09:00. He will be followed by The Forbes and Fix Show (12:00 – 15:00), The Thabooty Drive (15:00 – 18:00), The Kyle Cassim Show (19:00 – 22:00) and In das we Trust (22:00 – 01:00).
5FM Xtra Loud Mornings with Nicole da Silva will broadcast live from the Entertainment Centre on Saturday and Sunday (07:00 – 10:00) followed by the 5FM Top 40 with Msizi James (10:00 – 14:00) from the Waterworld at The Cabanas.
On Sunday Vic Naidoo will broadcast The Takeover (10:00 – 14:00) from The Cascades Hiotel followed by The Uncut Mixtape with DJ Loyd (14:00 – 17:00) and Selective Styles with Kid Fonque (17:00 – 19:00).
