Home to the South African Style Awards 2018, Sandton City’s luxurious Diamond Walk came alive with members of the media and sponsors, with a Global Trends High Tea to officially start the journey to one of the most revered events on the South African calendar.
Powered by Alfa Romeo, Global Trends High Tea the South African Style Awards, which will commemorate its 22nd year with a celebration of achievement, honouring individuals across a plethora of professions, who have made their mark in South Africa and beyond.
In collaboration with Bolon Eyewear and Skins Cosmetics, and hosted by Media Personality Taryn Louch, members of the media were treated to a sumptuous selection of sweet and savoury treats, whilst they sampled the latest shades from the brand that celebrates individuality and self acceptance by respecting diversity.
Guests were able to touch up their makeup with experts from Skins Cosmetics; a market leader in artisan Beauty and Cosmetic brands; housing over 65 exceptional brands, through a carefully curated experience.
From young individuals forging their footprint globally, to creatives taking the iconic African aesthetic to the world, The South African Style Awards are a showcase of style and business innovators, that continue to elevate the benchmark for excellence, and guests were invited to spend the afternoon with trends inspiration from South African Style Awards 2018 nominees Sarah Langa Mackay and Johanna Mukoki as well as South African Style Awards 2018 judge, Gert Johan Coetzee.
With the South African Style Awards 2018 celebrating mastery in Italian design and iconic divas across the ages, it was pertinent to hear from celebrated South African Designer and South African Style Awards 2018 judge, Gert Johan Coetzee ahead of his AW19 Italian inspired Collection for SA Fashion Week, on what inspires him, as well as what trends we can look forward to this season.
Blogger, Sarah Langa Mackay touched on the social media movement and the evolving trends on various platforms; and shared her tips and trends for building a sound social media presence authentically.
Businesswoman Johanna Mukoki shared her invaluable insights on building a brand and business in the age of artificial intelligence, and shared key ideas on futureproofing concepts in the era of digital transformation.
The afternoon was fueled by prosecco and demi sec by Martini Prosecco and Martini Asti, and between sips guests attempted to create the perfect Bolon sunglasses selfie to stand a chance to walk away with their very own Bolon sunglasses, valued from R2000 with the brand synonymous with individual style expression.
