On Sunday October 7th YFM adds a brand new Hip Hop show to its line-up. The Rodeo will see hosts Siyabonga “Scoop Makhathini” Ngwekazi andBontle Modiselle take over the airwaves every Sunday, from 6pm through to 10pm.
The 4-hour show is dedicated solely to the Hip Hop genre, both locally and globally. Listeners are in for an intense, vibrant, high energy show with in depth conversations about all things Hip Hop as this duo recreates the feelings and energy of being at a rodeo.
As Scoop and Bontle each infuse their unique personalities into The Rodeo, they bring the show to life – they are THE experience. Generational relation, global and local music playlists, ranks, charts and current affairs within the Hip Hop world, are some of the features listeners can look forward to in October.
Scoop’s reputation in the broadcast industry speaks for itself and he is no stranger to YFM. His return will create a feeling of nostalgia for listeners and a refreshed liking from his fans. Bontle has fast made her mark in the industry as an actress, dancer and Television personality, naturally, radio should be an exciting addition for her.

More exciting news comes with the station making changes to the The Hip Hop Floor show that airs every Thursday from 10pm until 12am, now naming it SA Hip Hop Live. The show is hosted by DJ Zai Maya, DJ Zan-D and Samke. Just Mo’s The Global Experience music show will now air every Sunday from 2pm until 6pm, making global music the main focus on Sundays.
Further reiterating the current #BeYou campaign, YFM continues to promote authenticity and versatility on air. Listeners are in for a treat this Spring/Summer 2018 as YFM continues to refresh their offering to stay ahead of the music game.
