‘BLACKS ONLY’ SERIES STILL AT IT AFTER 14TH HILARIOUS YEARS

by

Real Concerts proudly presents Blacks Only, the biggest comedy show in the country. What started as a one-night only comedy show in 2004, Blacks Only Comedy is now in its fourteenth year, with shows occurring 3 or 4 times a year.

Blacks Only kicks off 2017 with our latest relevant theme, Blacks Only Comedy Capture. Slated for Saturday, March 4th, 2017 at Centre Court, Emperors Palace. Doors open at 7pm; show at 8pm. Director, producer, MC & comedian David Kau will reprise his role as MC for the event. The evening will also showcase award-winning comedians as well as some fresh talent.

Featuring:

Noko Moswete: Comedy came easy for this Limpopo born, TuT Language Practice graduate. Her professional career started when she met a group of Pretoria based comedians, Comedy Society last year in May. The group travelled with her to various gigs where she did open spots and had a steady rise. Within a few months, Noko was getting amazing feedback from the audience and the media, and this led to her becoming a sought after MC at weddings and other corporate and social events. As her audience grows, Noko always tries to find new ways to keep her fans in stitches and wanting more.

Ndumiso Lindi: Known for his trade mark hat, funky urban stylish look and brilliant impersonation of the Madiba Jive, Ndumiso Lindi is regarded as one of South Africa’s top black comedians. After regular successful performances on the local comedy circuit, Ndumiso won as the Best Newcomer in the Red Bull Comedy AllStars Comedy Challenge in 2004.
An entertainer with flair, Ndumiso delves into honest observations of everyday life in South Africa; the diversity of South African cultures; as well as the uniqueness of black people. Painting the nation from a young black mans point of view, this talented man is well on his way to the top!

Conrad Koch: Conrad is South Africa’s top comedy ventriloquist and a double International Emmy nominated comedian. His most famous puppet, Chester Missing, has won numerous awards in his own right, including being the first recipient of the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation’s Anti-Racism Award. Conrad has appeared at most of South Africa’s biggest comedy events, and has done so internationally, including at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. The truth is, with a master’s degree in social anthropology, talking to puppets was his only career option.
Robby Collins: In relatively no time at all, Robby Collins has risen from a lanky, long-limbed actor on the Durban theatre circuit, to an artist of high acclaim – not just a nation-touring comedian with his own one-man show but also an Emmy-nominated writer and feature film actor. The sincerity of Robby’s material is matched only by that of his stage presence. His is the kind of comedy that seeks out the funny in otherwise painful experiences. With his success in the comedy arena, his role on local soapie, Rhythm City and his writing track record, it’s clear that Robby Collins has far surpassed the label of promising talent.

Loyiso Madinga: Loyiso Madinga may be small in stature but he’s definitely not short on jokes. This rural raised boy has quickly risen to being a certified international comic. He travelled the country on Trevor Noah’s Nationwild tour and represented SA at the Montreux Comedy Festival, Switzerland, and Busan Comedy Festival, Korea. His debut one man show, Born Free-ish, was a four night, sold out success. And he’s as comfortable on screen as he is on stage. Loyiso has written and performed on the two-time Emmy finalist satire show, Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola and also written and performed on the hit sketch show, Bantu Hour.

Roni Modimola: Roni Modimola is one of South Africa’s fastest rising superstars in the comedy field. He is a regular at major comedy venues across the country, and regularly makes appearances on TV shows such as “Phat Joe Live” and “Comedy Showcase”. Roni crosses cultural borders as he touches the funny bones of a variety of audiences both locally and internationally. His talent includes making some of the most obscure scenarios hilarious. Known for his dry sense of humour and his laugh, Roni can charm any audience with his wit.
Blacks Only Comedy Show is no stranger to edgy topics and close to the bone humour, and #ComedyCapture promises not to disappoint.

You won’t want to miss these non-stop laughs!
