As promised by the super talented DJ duo The Rhythm Sessions last year, they are back with a bang in 2017. Last week they announced the release their debut music video for their single ‘CURE featuring US house talent Portia Monique’, which was shot in early January.
Following the successful release of the single ‘CURE’ earlier last year with mass radio play and attention from the international market, The Rhythm Sessions decided it warranted a music video for airplay.
Shot and edited by MVP Productions, it’s a light video, shot in beautiful spaces with the simple aim of delivering the narrative of the lyrics.
Describing the visual storyline of the music video, Portia Monique explains, “Its about a woman in distress looking to cure her craving of undying love and lust. The love struck, love torn damsel is in desperate need to discover the antidote to remedy her eternal desire of deep love and affection. Until that time comes, she will suffer in disparity of the cure”.
The initial single ‘CURE’ was composed by Vusi Chirwa, Xolani Dlamini, Edgar Mfaba and Hlalefang Nomganga with lyrics by Portia Monique, was produced and mixed by Alpha & Olmega – The Rhythm Sessions.
The Rhythm Sessions, the dynamic DJ outfit formed in 2014 comprises of two Gauteng locals Hlalefang ‘Fang DaRhythm’ Nomganga and Edgar ‘Edsoul’ Mfaba have been making waves in the industry over the last 14 months. With heavy backing from musical giants on the SA music scene and they residency at Kaya FM, their full length Rhythm Sessions album is due for release by July this year.
