Get ready for the ride of your life as dynamic TV duo Roxy Burger and Sade Giliberti tear off to OppiKoppi for the first episode of MTV Choice, MTV’s pop-tastic new magazine programme (MTV, DStv Channel 130, 21 August @ 16:40 CAT).
Yes, setting the tone for the weekly TV series, the intrepid MTV gal pals are on location in Limpopo for South Africa’s thorniest, dustiest music festival where they’ll be hanging out with the likes of The Narrow, getting style tips from SAMA-winner and BET Award nominee Toya Delazy, chewing the fat with American indie rock band Manchester Orchestra and interviewing Chino Moreno from the Deftones – not to mention catching up with local DJ duo Pascal and Pearce as they prepare to leave for Ibiza. When there’re not doing that, Sade & Roxy will be infiltrating every VIP tent and backstage hangout they can find and, of course, twerking. Lots of twerking…
Along the way Roxy and Sade will be taking a mischievously sideways look at the hottest vids, news, views, crews, apps, memes, Tweets, styles and trends shaping their universe, while challenging each other to execute crazy dares and impossible stunts.

Other highlights/regular features to look out for this week include an exclusive look at Selena Gomez the morning after her raucous 21st birthday party. Ouch! And grumpy old Kanye West instructing the paparazzi never to talk to him. Or anyone he knows. Ever.
Smart, sardonic, funny and packed full of attitude, MTV Choice airs every Wednesday at 16:40 CAT from Wednesday 21 August.

South African artists also feature in daily music strand New S**t, the breaking music show that premieres a brand new music video to the African continent every single day (weekdays at 17:30 CAT). MTV is also running “Art Beat”, a competition for wannabe designers and creatives to design “short form” content for the channel showcasing the best local talent.
